Apatosaurus (A-pat-o-saur-us), is a genus of sauropod dinosaurs that lived about about 161-144 million years ago, during the Jurassic period. It was one of the large sauropods, about 4.5 meters (15 feet) tall at the hips, with a length of up to 22.8 m (75 ft) and a mass up to 35 metric tonnes (39 tons).
In Ark: Survival Evolved
Apatosaurus itself doesn't appear in Ark: Survival Evolved, however in the Brontosaurus dino dossier mentions that "Some may think this is an Apatosaurus, Dreadnoughtus, Argentinosaurus, or other sauropod - but this is a strange island and I'm the one doing the research" which means that people mistaken Brontosaurus for Apatosaurus and other sauropods that lived in the island. It's possible this could mean that Apatosaurus will be added to the game, but it's mostly unlikely to be added because players will instantly mistake it for Brontosaurus than Apatosaurus.
- In 2015, the Brontosaurus genus was revived and several species of Apatosaurus were resigned to the Brontosaurus genus.
