ARK: Survival Evolved features different craft able armor sets that can be unlocked as you progress in levels. The higher tier armor will provide better protection, but require harder to find materials. Each piece of armor has a set durability, slowly breaking whenever you take a hit. Certain creatures, including the Mesopithecus, Kairuku, and Gigantopithecus, can wear a helmet as armor instead of a saddle.
All armor insulates, making you more resistant or less resistant to cold or heat temperatures.
Armor types include helmet/hat/cap/mask, shirt/chestpiece/tank, pants/leggings, gloves/gauntlets, and boots/flippers, all of which can be dyed, with some having multiple dye slots.
The Cloth Pants and Shirt are unlocked at level 2 and the rest of the set at level 3.
10 armor/piece, 0.5 weight/piece

The Hide Pants and Shirt are unlocked at level 15 and the rest of the set at level 20 and requires Cloth Armor to learn.
20 armor/piece, 0.5 weight/piece

0 armor/piece and 5 armor for the leggings, 0.5 weight/piece
- Leggings: Provides little defense, but tremendous hypothermal insulation, specifically when underwater.
- Tank: A tank that's filled with Oxygen. Used to temporarily breathe underwater.
- Flippers: These flippers are firm, but flexible. Wearing them increases swim speed, but decreases walking speed.
- Mask: Connects to a SCUBA tank, allowing the wearer to breathe underwater for as long as the tank has oxygen. Doesn't actually effect breathing underwater, only the tank does, instead provides clearer vision underwater.
