Blueprints are similar to Engrams. Blueprints enable the crafting of specific items, but are not learned through spending Engram Points and cost no engram points to use. Blueprints can be found in Supply Crates, Loot Crates, Deep Sea Loot Crates and Orbital Supply Drops.

Usage[]

To use a Blueprint, you have to obtain all the resources needed to craft the item listed in the blueprint itself, and then click on the Blueprint in your inventory or in the required workstation (e.g. Smithy Smithy, Fabricator Fabricator or Tek Replicator Tek Replicator) to craft it. Blueprints can be used an unlimited number of times at any level, except for the Fishing Rod Fishing Rod and all Tek Tier Tek blueprints, which are only usable 3 times.

Blueprints essentially come in two different versions, 'structure' blueprints which are only for items without quality and directly imitate a learnable engram, they are very useful as the player doesn't have to spend engram points in order to craft the item, and instead can simply use the blueprint. However, they can not be used to unlock subsequent engrams. For example, to craft a Wooden Cage you still have to have the Wooden Foundation engram, not the blueprint. They are exclusively looted from Supply Crates and Fishing.

Blueprints with Item Quality which are only for Weapons, Tools, Armor, Shields and Saddles, give bonuses to the crafted item's stats and crafting xp rewarded but can cost significantly more materials. This will be noted on the Blueprint itself via its tool-tip. They are obtained from both Supply Crates and Loot Crates with higher quality ones often coming from higher level crates, acting as a unique reward for exploration with their crafted items offering potentially extreme advantages (along with powerful items being able to be given to allies or easily replaced when lost), particularly in combat, to players and creatures.

In ARK: Survival Evolved Mobile, Blueprints and TEK Blueprints can be looted from chests in Dungeons.

List of Known Blueprints[]

All naturally occurring Blueprints with Quality:

Item Quality[]

Items which use stats, namely Melee Damage, Durability, Armor, Hypothermic Insulation and Hyperthermic Insulation, have Item Quality, with higher quality items having better overall stats (though lower quality items may be randomly superior in an individual stat). Items with improved quality can be obtained from beacons, loot crates, and other forms of loot drops (such as from killing predators), while blueprints of higher quality items are obtainable only from beacons and loot crates. Items with higher quality can cost substantially more than primitive versions.

Items that are affected by quality::

There are currently six levels of quality, defined as follows.

Primitive Ramshackle Apprentice Journeyman Mastercraft Ascendant
Random Multiplier Threshold 1 1.25 2.5 4.5 7 10
Crafting XP Multiplier 1 2 3 4 5 6
Repairing XP Multiplier 1 2 3 4 5 6
Crafting Resources Requirements Multiplier 1 1.33 1.67 2 2.5 3.5

Maximum Armor and Damage[]

As of 255.0, almost all equipment now have an upper limit on armor and damage.

Set Cap
Cloth Armor Cloth Armor 188 Armor
Hide Armor Hide Armor 188 Armor
Ghillie Armor Ghillie Armor 158.7 Armor
Desert Cloth TBC
Fur Armor Fur Armor 188 Armor
Chitin Armor Chitin Armor 235 Armor
Flak Armor Flak Armor 496 Armor
SCUBA Leggings SCUBA Leggings TBC
Riot Armor Riot Armor 570.4 Armor
Tek Armor Tek Armor 714.6 Armor
Saddles 124 Armor
Weapons 298% Damage

Quality, thermals, durability and cost have not been affected by the caps. Fishing Effectiveness and Shield Health also do not appear to have been affected.

The cap does not affect loot rolls, meaning the cap may be reached at lower qualities for items such as Cloth. Higher qualities will only see increases in cost, durability or thermals, or perhaps even nothing at all if the loot roll "wastes" further value on the capped stats.

Notes/Trivia[]

  • You can stock blueprints on a Bookshelf Bookshelf.
  • Some Blueprints, particularly Platform Saddles of Mastercraft/Ascendant Quality have such a high crafting requirement that their materials do not fit in either a Smithy Smithy nor within the weight requirement of a Castoroides Castoroides' inventory, they can be made in a Argentavis', they can also be made in a Tek Replicator Tek Replicator.
  • (Almost) all items can be spawned as their Blueprints using the Console Commands to spawn an item, making sure the final number is 1.
  • The maximum quality players can get from a weapon blueprint is at 755.3%. Tek weapons have a maximum percent of 296.6%.
  • The maximum quality players can get from armor blueprints are:
    • Flak: about 1410 armor/piece
    • Riot: about 1623 armor/piece
    • Tek: about 1949 armor/piece

E.g.

GiveItemNum 1 1 1 1

will give you a Simple Pistol BP, and

GiveItem "Blueprint'/Game/PrimalEarth/CoreBlueprints/Weapons/PrimalItem_WeaponGun.PrimalItem_WeaponGun'" 2 10 1

will give you 2 different Simple Pistol BPs of very high quality.

Version History[]

Version Changes
255.2
  • Increased the upper limit on the Damage and Armor values by 17.5%. This is not applied retroactively to previously clamped blueprints, which remain at the previous cap.
255.0
  • Implemented an upper limit on the Damage and Armor values across all weapons, armor and saddles (excepting Shields). This affects all existing blueprints. Quality, durability, thermals and crafting cost remain unaffected.
    • Cloth Armor Cloth Armor: 160 Armor
    • Hide Armor Hide Armor: 160 Armor
    • Ghillie Armor Ghillie Armor: 160 Armor
    • Fur Armor Fur Armor: 160 Armor
    • Chitin Armor Chitin Armor: 200 Armor
    • Flak Armor Flak Armor: TBC
    • SCUBA Leggings SCUBA Leggings: TBC
    • Riot Armor Riot Armor: 460 Armor
    • Saddles: 100
    • Weapons: 250%
    • Note that it is possible for lower quality blueprints to reach these maximum values and is even probable for sets with a lower cap. Higher quality equipment may only see increases in durability, thermals and cost.
    • This cap seems to be applied post-processing: non-capped damage values are used when rolling item value from loot crates.
  • Removed Rocket Launcher Rocket Launcher qualities. No more variance in damage, quality or durability.
